Pacific Grove is a tale of two nines. H. Chandler Egan laid out the front through the town's forested inland ground in 1932; in 1960 Jack Neville—co-designer of Pebble Beach Golf Links—added a back nine over true links dunesland beside the Point Pinos lighthouse, where the course opens to the sea.
It's a municipal course, walkable and a fraction of resort prices, which is exactly why locals call it the poor man's Pebble.
Greens are scheduled for aeration 10–10 August 2026, with roughly 20 days of recovery after. Expect normal green speeds from about 30 Aug.
