Lofoten Links runs along a strip of machair between granite mountains and the open Atlantic, 68 degrees north—far enough that from late May to mid-July the sun never sets and the course never closes.
Jeremy Turner's routing uses the rocks as walls and the sea as the constant threat; the par-3 2nd, played across a beach cove, is one of the most photographed holes in the world. In September the aurora takes over the night shift.
68° northFor weeks each summer the sun never sets over Lofoten Links, and neither does the tee sheet—coastal holes strung along the rocks at 68 degrees north with snow still on the peaks across the water. In winter, the aurora takes the night shift.
Season May 9 – Oct 18. In midnight-sun weeks the tee sheet runs 24 hours; resort guests pay roughly half the visitor rate.
