Streamsong Black opened in 2017, Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner's answer to the same mined-out sand base that built Red and Blue a mile north—except Black got its own clubhouse and leaned even further into blind shots and hidden contour.
Golf Digest named it Best New Public Course of 2018, and the reputation holds up: this is the course at Streamsong built purely for shot-making creativity, not scenery for its own sake—though it has plenty of that too.
Hole 9 · The PunchbowlGil Hanse and Jim Wagner built a genuinely blind approach into the 9th—the target off the tee is a windmill, not the green, which sits in a hidden punchbowl eight to ten feet below the ridge that surrounds it. It's one of the biggest, most contoured greens on the property, and the shot rewards trusting the ground to funnel the ball in rather than trying to see the flag.
