Bethpage State Park is proof that major-championship golf doesn't require a resort—five public 18-hole courses on Long Island, all still run by New York State Parks at muni prices. The Black is the reason people know the name: A.W. Tillinghast's par-71 brute has hosted two U.S. Opens, two Barclays, a PGA Championship, and the 2025 Ryder Cup, and it's still a walk-up-and-book public course.
Only the Black is in our catalog today, but the other four—Red, Blue, Yellow, Green—are real 18-hole rounds on the same property if you want a second day. Reservations run through the state park's own $5-per-booking system, and the Long Island Rail Road runs straight from Penn Station to the Bethpage station, a short ride from the first tee.
